Learning mathematics requires one to proceed by small steady increments, each based on what has been previously learned. One cannot "cram" for a mathematics exam and expect to learn anything. Furthermore, this class meets only once per week, so missing a class implies missing a significant portion of the entire experience. Finally, this class has no exams and the grade is entirely based on your participation.
For these reasons, attendance is mandatory. Please be there!
